When I arrived to Project RELO, I had no idea what to expect. I figured it would be another leadership retreat. What I realized and took away from it was that RELO is changing the narrative on veteran employment and engagement. To hear a high level executive say “I said I support out veterans but in sincerity thought it was a charity issue.
This is not a charity issue!
Veterans make companies better. I am forever changed and grateful for this experience”. That statement spoke volumes to the authenticity, execution and engagement of the new narrative. Having recently retired from the Navy after 27 years I thought I knew more than my corporate counterparts. In fact, I walked away a better leader with a broader understanding of how I can better support corporate initiatives with my experience and skills.
